Greetings, Mr. President,
Marie Charizze Battad, a high school student from Vigan City, Ilocos Region, Philippines, is who I am. I'm writing to you about climate change to let you know how worried I am and to ask for your assistance.
Our world and our future are seriously threatened by climate change. Millions of people worldwide are impacted by an increase in extreme weather occurrences including typhoons, heat waves, droughts, and floods. In addition, it is detrimental to our economic, security, health, and environment. I'm concerned about how climate change will affect future generations as well as my own as a young person.
I am asking you to take action and support policies and initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy sources and protect our natural resources. I am also asking you to work with other countries and organizations to preserve the promises of the Paris Agreement and to develop international solutions.
I think it's your duty and your power to change things and save the environment. I'm hoping you'll pay attention to the voices of those calling for justice and action, particularly the young people. It is my wish that you would behave with bravery and kindness, encouraging others to follow in your footsteps.
I appreciate your consideration and time. I value your leadership and service. I'm eager to speak with you and observe your behavior.
Regards, Marie Charizze Battad
